Who wouldn’t love a product endorsed by Ashton Kutcher? I’m not talking about the Nikon D60, although that is interesting in itself. I’m talking about the 10 mega pixel Nikon Coolpix S60 digital camera that features a 3.5” touch screen LCD with anti-reflection coating. Whoa touch screen LCD? With no buttons at all?
I thought I was being Punk’d but this really exists. With the new touch Autofocus, you are able to touch the subject on the screen, and the camera automatically sets the focus, exposure, and tracks the subject so you get a sharp picture and optimal exposure even if the subject is moving. This is perfect for taking pictures of something when something else, for example a fence, is in the way. You can change the background of your home screen. Yes, it has a home screen… like your computer or an iPod. And not only can you create slide shows on the S60, you can set it to your favorite tune and jam out while you’re watching your pictures. It only gets better from here. It comes in a variety of colors, including pink. I, myself, would go for the traditional black, even though dark objects tend to get lost in my chocolate brown couch. Those girly girls who take pictures of themselves 70 times to get the perfect Myspace angle would probably choose pink. They can also interact with their photos too! Hand written memos and messages can be written in 5 different pen colors and thicknesses using a stylus, so they can write “BFFS LOLZ” on every picture! The S60 has a fun interface and is slim enough to fit in your back pocket. At $350, it will make room in your back pocket by taking a wad of money out of your wallet, but if you have the money to burn, I kid you not: you will be playing with this camera constantly for about a week straight.
